Renowned Preaching Workshop is Coming to Salt Lake City
Guest Article by Chris Hile
For the first time, a Charles Simeon Trust Workshop on Biblical Exposition will be hosted in Utah in April 2026. These workshops are designed to strengthen current and aspiring pastors in the preaching of God’s Word.
The Charles Simeon Trust (CST) “exists to see better preaching everywhere so that there’s greater gospel access for everyone.” One of the primary ways CST seeks to accomplish this mission is through regional workshops. In 2025, over 15,000 pastors and Bible teachers registered for workshops held all around the world, from North America to Southeast Asia. Now, a Workshop on Biblical Exposition is coming to Salt Lake City.
“The Workshop on Biblical Exposition is a three-day training event aimed to encourage and equip you in the skills needed to read, understand, and proclaim the Word of God,” per CST’s website. The purpose of such a workshop is to “increase each participant’s confidence and ability in rightly handling God’s Word.”
The workshop will be held at Gospel Grace Church in Salt Lake City, and will include instructional sessions, encouraging exposition, and small group sessions. Through each component, participants will learn how to handle biblical texts, listen to the preaching of the Word, and receive feedback on their own exegetical and homiletical work.
Sessions will be led by seasoned instructors, including David Helm, the Senior Pastor of Christ Church Chicago and author of Expositional Preaching: How We Speak God’s Word Today, Scott J. Hafemann, Honorary Reader at St. Andrews University and author of The NIV Application Commentary on 2 Corinthians, and Lukus Counterman, a local pastor and professor at the Salt Lake School of Theology with over 20 years of ministry and preaching experience.
Here are all the details for the upcoming workshop:
- When: April 22–24, 2026
- Where: Gospel Grace Church
- Topic: Preaching Epistles (2 Corinthians)
- Cost: $139 ($159 after March 16)
If you are interested in participating in this exciting opportunity, you can register for the workshop here. Pastors are encouraged to invite others in their churches and ministry networks who would benefit from focused training on preaching. Each church is able to register multiple participants.
